What if you only had five minutes to share your life with someone? Like what if you only had five minutes left on Earth, what would you want to tell the world?

Recently, I had the opportunity to say yes to a 5 minute speaking engagement on African television. Really it was closer to 10 minutes but due to the need for translation, I planned for five minutes of my own words plus a short introduction. This is the topic that came to me in the days before sharing.

Five minutes.

My only five minutes to get the opportunity to say anything to hundreds, maybe thousands of strangers in the world. My only opportunity to make a difference in their life. Wow! What an honor, a privilege. As the scheduled day for this opportunity drew near a desire to share the right thing swept over me. I kept considering how badly I wanted each word of this five minutes to count. I decided to consider what I would want the world to know if this was the ONLY five minutes I had left and this is what I decided to say:

You Are Loved

You are loved by God. You are loved by your Creator. You are loved more than you know and likely more than you believe. His Word says in John 3:16-17,

“God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that whoever believes in Him will not perish but will have eternal life. Whoever believes will not be condemned…”

John 15:9-16

Not Only Are You Loved But Your Life Is Significant

God created you for the purpose of loving you and the purpose to help you understand that love through encountering the world.

His word says 1 Peter 2:9

So Live In Freedom – Live A Life Well Lived!

  1. Walk in the freedom that you are loved and forgiven – 1 John 4:9-10

  2. That your life matters – 1 Peter 2:9

  3. That God wants the best for you and your desires to be aligned – Jeremiah 29:11, Psalm 37:4

  4. Let go of “all that hinders you” –

    1. Anxiety, worry, fear, insecurity, or pity

  5. LIVE LOVED
