For me, going has always been more exciting than staying. There of course are always hard moments leading up to a short-term or longer-term trip. Yet my whole being often desires to go, to seek out opportunities to be a part of life beyond Madison, beyond Maine. This will definitely be my biggest, greatest adventure and mission to date. However, I am enthralled at the opportunity to step out into the world and serve God’s beloved people.

During the duration of my eleven month trip I will be serving in South America, Asia and Africa. We will be ministering through education, construction, athletics, trekking, anti-human trafficking, church-planting, etc. In order to partake in the WorldRace, I must fundraise the cost of this journey: missions, travel, housing and food for eleven months, totaling $18,700. My hope is that you would consider the depth and breadth of this opportunity and how you could become a part of all I will be doing through both prayer and financial support.

I will begin my trip in South America. Here we will begin our on the fields missions in Ecuador. Upon arrival we will complete training and debriefing before heading out to do area missions. Our missions could lead us to also serving in Colombia, Peru, Argentina, Chile and Brazil. Primary missions involvement in South America include: Special Needs Ministry, Sex Trafficking Ministry, and Refugee Ministry.

From there we will head to Asia, primarily serving in Nepal. Our mission opportunities here are very diverse: Children’s Ministry, Anti-Trafficking Ministry, Trekking Ministry, and Unreached People Groups. We may be ministering to women trapped in the depth of brothels or ministering through trekking along the routes of the Himalayan Mountains. You can probably guess which ministry appeals to me more. Yet I understand that God will place me wherever He desires and both experiences will grow me and stretch me in ways I never thought possible.

We will be spending the majority of our trip in two major African regions. In Southern Africa we will be orientated in Eswatini, then headed into the field in South Africa, Lesotho, Zimbabwe, and Zambia. Ministries in these countries will include: Leadership Development, Children’s Ministry, Feeding Program, Community Development, and Agriculture. Then we will travel north, headed to Ethiopia, Rwanda and Uganda. These are the countries we are likely to finish our mission in. Ministries in these countries will include: Community Development, Agriculture, and Children’s Ministry.
