Upon arriving to Light & Salt Ministries we received our first invitation to a Birthday Party. Here’s how it went:

L & S Ministries Birthday Party For All!
When: Friday, Sept. 24th 2021
Where: Light & Salt Ministry Base
What Time: 8:00AM-4:00PM (Break 12-1:30)
On Friday, we were able to celebrate LIFE. We celebrated 38 boys’ Birthdays as well as the Birthdays of the Staff and our Squad, it was all encompassing. Join me as I take you through a photo blog of the day.

We started our morning early, because a BirthDAY Party really should last ALL DAY I’ve learned. This was our setup, this is our ministry center and where we spend the majority of our time throughout our days here.
As the boys arrived we had breakfast, prayer and a time of worship. Then Angelo, the ministries’ Art, P.E. and Bible teacher lead us through song and dance routines. The energy was high and we were captivated by this moment in time. It was so joyous.
Then we played some games, Pin-The-Tail-On-The-Donkey, Musical Chairs, May the Best Dancer Win, Costume Contest and Trivia. The morning was electric. No one wanted the dancing to stop. We danced solo, we danced in partners, and we danced our hearts out. It was a morning for the books!
Following all of those fun and games we enjoyed hamburgers, french fries and good conversation over lunch.
In the afternoon the boys came back for water balloons, Futbol, or soccer as we, Americans call it, ice cream and cupcakes! The soccer tournament was incredible, we had 8 teams of 4 and played elimination so intensity was high. The weather was perfect all day.
My team came in third. I was certainly ready for bed and a shower after the games. BUT first dessert!!!
I’m not sure I’ve ever been to a better Birthday party! These boys (and two girls, one of them being our host’s daughter) are filling my heart with so much fun, freedom and faith! I’m not sure I’m going to want to leave this place in 3 weeks. I am certainly going to try to enjoy ever single second, bring care, and maybe even a little education to their lives!
