I have nothing to prove.
Not to anyone.
Yet I often forget this truth.
I get caught up in the rat race of life and the goals the world puts on us: to be the strongest, to be the wealthiest, to go on the most extravagant vacations, or to have the most accolades.
Nothing says I have to accomplish all of these, or any of them for that matter.
We don’t have to strive for the world’s label of perfection in our lives. It’s not attainable anyways. It’s an automatic setup for failure.
What we do have to do is strive to accomplish what God has created us to do: to love Him, to love people and to follow His lead for our lives.
It is our responsibility to be the best version of OURSELVES everyday. NOT ANYONE ELSE. Not even the “where I want to be in five years” version of ourselves.
BE THE BEST VERSION OF YOU TODAY. Where you are right now, in your current circumstance, is exactly where you need to be. Show up and give your best effort. That’s it.
We do not have to compare ourselves to others. We do not have to have all of the answers to our own problems. We do not have to strive for unattainable perfection.
If this sounds foreign to you, that’s because it is. The world preaches that life is about getting ahead of everyone else. EXHAUSTING AND IMPOSSIBLE.
God preaches that He created us in His perfect image. When we turn our focus on that truth, we start living our best lives. AMAZING, EASY, ENJOYABLE & ATTAINABLE.
“It is our responsibility to be the best version of OURSELVES everyday. NOT ANYONE ELSE. Not even the “where I want to be in five years” version of ourselves.” I love that!
