Lesotho Ministry Recap
Wow! What a month it has been! Lesotho is one of the most hidden gems of beauty on the planet. I stood in awe and gaped at the views of our day to day, sunrises, sunsets and night skies on a frequent basis. This country is beautiful and so is its people.
During our time in Lesotho we partnered with a ministry called Africa For Jesus. Here we got to partner in many different forms of community outreach and help with restoring areas of the ministry base. For me, this looked like teaching a few lessons on history, geography and physical education in a secondary school, preaching on our first Sunday morning at church two days after arriving, encouraging and praying over members of nearby villages, giving a plethora of fist bumps to kids on our runs and walks throughout the village, capturing ministry moments through photography and videography, weeding gardens, cleaning out the church office and cleaning up the preschool in preparation for the students’ return from holiday break.
This month also allowed me to step into my new role as a prayer and intercession coordinator for our team and squad. In this role I was able to provide an opportunity daily for squad members to come around the meeting space and enter into topic specific prayer sessions. Our schedule looked like this:
“Me Monday” – praying specifically for our hearts, questions, needs, etc.
“Team Tuesday” – praying for our teammates, squadmates and leadership
“World Wednesday” – praying specifically for the hardships of our world, our current country locations and the America
“Thankful Thursday” – A day to offer up solely gratitude to the Lord for what He is doing and what He has done
“Friends and Family Friday” – Yes! We are praying for you! We love you and we miss you! So we pray for you.
I plan to continue in this schedule of prayer throughout the remainder of the Race! So please join me if you are interested as well.
Another amazing month has come and gone and we have enjoyed it fully. We have seen the hand of the Lord work through our words, our prayers and our deeds. We have seen the transformation of gardens overgrown to freshly weeded. We have shared in the encouragement our testimonies have brought to others. We have seen the physical healing of an injured woman through prayer. We have grown closer and closer to the Lord in the open spaces of our ministry location. We have lived in the splendor of the Lord!
On Friday we will begin to travel to the quaint country of Eswatini where we will continue to minister to the beautiful people of Southern Africa. We will be partnering with the Adventures in Missions Base there to support their work with orphans and the hungry. Our leadership will be traveling with us as well! What a blessing it will be to do ministry with our Squad Coaches, Mentor and Alumni Squad Leader for a short time.
Thank you for your prayers, your support and your faithfulness to walk alongside us throughout this journey. We love you, we appreciate you and we miss you! It remains to be such a gift to represent you and of course, Christ on this journey. Lives are being touched, encouraged and changed because of your financial giving, prayers and words of encouragement. Though the needs are many, blessings abound as we go forth and serve others.
Lots and lots of love,
Sav & Team Spice
Love reading your blogs and knowing what you are up to. I like the themed prayer days and will adopt it for us at MES somehow! Keep the love flowing and and the energy going, you are having the best education ever, 1,000 times better than sitting in a classroom. Touching people’s souls and hearts is priceless. Love you girl.
Peace and Joy,
Ann
That’s so exciting! I can’t wait to hear how it impacts MES.
Yes!!! Thank you friend!!!
I love your heart for prayer, Sav!! He says He hears our prayers, and I’m confident in His divine nearness as you continue this practice. So encouraged by your faith, persistence, and grit!!
PROUD OF YOU!
Yes, indeed, you and your Squad have had a significant imfluence on all the lives you’ve touched! Also, you’ve learned how that impact can be through a smile, a word, a prayer, a blog, or a kind action. I love the way you’ve set an intercession schedule and want to incorporate that more into my prayer life. Thank you!
