Communitas

It’s community but better. It’s living in unity with the people around you for the ideal goal of bringing life to a darkened world. It’s choosing grace upon grace for those around you that have a different perspective. It’s beautiful, it’s life-giving, it’s the WorldRace.

As I sit here reading my Bible and sipping coffee, I pause and look around. Everyone is fighting for this common goal of looking more like Jesus, of learning and discerning the Word of God. My spirit is overjoyed by this picture of discipleship. This picture of communitas.

With God at the forefront of our minds and hearts we are able to look past each other’s pitfalls when they appear. We are able to encourage and call each other higher when we feel like we are less. We are able to ask hard questions and walk through difficulty hand in hand. We are able to express emotion without fear of judgement. We are able to grow individually and collectively. We are able to be, to just be exactly who God created us to be.

I am so blessed to be in such a deeply rich, wise and encouraging community. The friendships, the heart to hearts, the coffee dates, it all adds up to more life, more good and wholesomeness.

Soon we will be changing teams and roles within those teams. Please join me in prayer that we will stay united as one body. That we won’t let the shifts and changes that are coming interfere with the beauty and wonder of this community. Please pray that we will press our heels in to continuing to encourage and lift up one another, that we will continue to press in to what the Lord has for each one of us.

Your prayers are powerful. Your prayers matter. Your prayers are being answered.

I love y’all a lot!

  1. Lord right now I lift up this community of people who serve you whole heartedly! I ask for your arms to be around them like a mother hen protecting her babies! Shelter them from darkness as they shine your light throughout this world! Change is an uneasy feeling at times but so exciting when it is Your plan unfolding. I especially pray for Savanna Lord! I ask for her every need met and her every desire accomplished. Continue to show her Your vast Love! Amen

  2. Your team has learned to do this well! Like taking yeast from one batch of bread and adding it to a new batch so that yeast will continue to grow and spread through the new bread, so will the skills and qualities each of you have honed will be used to grow the next group.
